What is full-service interior design?
Full-service design means we manage every part of your project, from the first concept to the final installation. We learn how you live, develop the design, source every piece, and coordinate ordering, delivery, and installation. Whether you’re furnishing a single room or refreshing a kitchen or bath, you’re left with a finished space, ready to enjoy.
Do you take on furnishing and decorating-only projects?
Yes. Many of our clients come to us once construction is done, or when their home is structurally sound but the rooms feel unfinished. We select and layer furniture, lighting, window treatments, rugs, art, and accessories so each room feels cohesive and complete. Projects can be a single room or a whole home.
Do you design kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes. We design kitchens, primary bathrooms, secondary baths, and powder rooms, from finish and fixture selections through tile, vanities, lighting, and hardware. We work alongside your contractor, or can recommend trusted trades from our network.

How much does interior design cost per room?
Most people planning a project ask the same thing first: what should this cost? The answer comes in two numbers. One is the design fee, which pays for the work of designing, sourcing, and managing the project. The other is the total project budget for the room itself, which covers everything from furniture and finishes to any construction and the final install. Both are worth understanding before you commit.

Interior design cost by room
Living and Family Rooms
Total project budget range: $50,000 – $150,000+
Design fee: $3,750 – $5,750
A living room comes together in layers. Seating, rugs, lighting, drapery, and built-ins each add to the total, and the fee reflects how much of it is tailored to how your family actually uses the room. Done well, it reads as collected over time rather than furnished in an afternoon.
Dining Room
Total project budget range: $25,000 – $90,000+
Design fee: $3,750 – $6,000
Dining rooms hold fewer pieces, so each one has to earn its place. The table, the chairs, the light fixture, and any paneling or wallpaper set the tone, which puts most of the cost into material and proportion. Fewer elements, higher stakes on every choice.
Primary Bedroom
Total project budget range: $30,000 – $110,000+
Design fee: $3,750 – $5,250
The palette here is usually calm, but the spend goes into quality you feel more than quality you notice. Custom beds, upholstered pieces, thoughtful storage, detailed millwork, layered lighting, and good bedding do the work. This is a room built on comfort and quiet detail rather than any single showpiece.
Primary Bathroom

Design fee: $4,500 – $9,000
Bathrooms are the most technical room to plan. Custom vanities, tile and stone, plumbing fixtures, and extras like radiant floors all have to be coordinated precisely, in a space that sees water every day. The budget reflects that planning as much as the finishes themselves.
Full and Secondary Bathrooms
Total project budget range: $40,000 – $95,000+
Design fee: $3,750 – $5,250
A secondary bath is smaller, but it asks for the same precision. Tile, stone, the vanity, fixtures, lighting, and mirrors drive the cost, usually inside a tighter footprint where every detail is on view.
Kitchen
Total project budget range: $150,000 – $300,000+
Design fee: $7,500 – $15,000
Of every room in a home, the kitchen asks for the most coordination. The budget moves with your cabinetry, stone, and appliances, and with everything hidden in the walls: plumbing, electrical, and any change to the footprint. Small choices, like how the cabinetry lines up or where the lighting is tucked, are often where the real craftsmanship sits.
Kitchen and bathroom refreshes, such as updated lighting, hardware, tile, paint, and styling, are scoped separately and priced to fit the work.

Custom work takes more time and coordination. Specialty materials add up quickly. And older homes tend to surface surprises that call for extra problem-solving.
Will KR Interior Design source the least expensive product?
We prioritize thoughtful, high-quality design and products, and we always work within a realistic budget. KR Interior Design has a network of partners and vendors who execute high-quality work, and we source through trade accounts that can include expedited shipping, free samples, and white glove delivery, benefits we pass along to our clients.
Can I shop on my own?
For full-service projects, KR Interior Design handles all ordering, tracking, receiving, delivery, and installation of furniture and accessories. We purchase from trade-only vendors with whom we have established relationships. Because clients don’t have access to these vendors, shopping on your own isn’t part of the full-service process.
How does billing for products work?
Product invoices are submitted to you and paid before any ordering begins. This keeps orders moving quickly and lead times as short as possible.
Do you work with contractors, architects, and builders?
Absolutely. Collaborating with other professionals is a major part of our full-service design model, and we’re happy to work with your team or recommend trusted trades from our network.
How long does the project normally last?
Timing varies with the scope of the project and is discussed throughout the planning phase. We share a rough timeline at the Project Kickoff and work hard to keep it on track. Shipping delays, damaged items, and late revisions can slow things down, and most projects have a problem child or two. That’s completely normal, and we’ll solve it.
What if the project scope increases from the original agreement?
Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll work with your contractor, architect, builder, or any trades involved to tell you what can be done and how it affects cost and timing. In most cases, we can amend the existing design agreement or create a new one with an updated fee structure and timeline.
